Brown-ochre cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Slightly musty. Interior is clean and unmarked. More than 70 photographs, on page-numbered plates, plus fold-out map showing locations of mills. Dust jacket spine blemished; small chip at head; not price clipped; in an archival mylar sleeve. 104 pages. 25 x 18 cm. An illustrated presentation with architectural descriptions of the mills of the Isle of Wight. At the time of publication (1970) some had already vanished and others were ceasing to work and stand. An interesting review of mill architecture with the historical context of rural industry. Includes a glossary and bibliography.
