About the Author: David Graff is assistant professor of history at Kansas State University. He is also the author of the forthcoming Medieval Chinese Warfare, 300-900 . Robin Higham is professor emeritus of history at Kansas State University. He is also an author and editor of many books in military history, including the Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Military History, A Guide to the Sources of United States Military History , and The American Civil War .
