Post-apocalyptic peril engulfs a veteran and his wife in a chilling race for survival. As the infected rise, their journey home becomes a desperate fight against relentless horrors.
In Midwest Infected, Ron, a resourceful Army Veteran and wealth manager with a penchant for animals, and his wife Sorina find themselves in the throes of a terrifying scenario. Their tranquil vacation in Michigan is shattered when their car, along with all electronics, inexplicably dies. A chance encounter with cyclists brings horrifying news from Muskegon - people are turning violent, attacking and killing others. The afflicted exhibit disturbing symptoms - blue lips, grey skin laced with black bite marks and lacerations, and eyes that are yellow and bloodshot.
Chaos ensues when a nearby explosion rocks their world, seemingly originating from a BP station. Ron and Sorina, drawing on their Midwestern resilience, must now band together with other survivors, strategize and defend themselves against this fast-approaching menace. The struggle intensifies when a member of their group comes into contact with an infected's blood, raising questions about trust, survival, and the ultimate price of humanity.
As they traverse the treacherous landscape, they discover patterns in the infected's behavior. With each harrowing encounter, they hastily document their observations, hoping to find a way to outsmart the deadly threat. Their immediate goal? To find secure shelter amidst widespread devastation, reach Lansing, and take a ferry across Lake Michigan back to their home in Wisconsin.
But their journey is fraught with obstacles. The fast ones are a deadly problem no one can outrun. They encounter those they can aid, those willing to assist them, those beyond help, and those they are forced to confront, infected and uninfected alike. The road to safety is a path paved with danger, uncertainty, and the grim reality of their new world.
Midwest Infected is a heart-stopping, dystopian thrill-ride that explores the boundaries of human resilience, the dynamics of survival, and the thin line that separates man from monster. Will Ron and Sorina make it back to Wisconsin? Or will they fall victim to the terrifying world that now envelops them?
