From the Author
Before you buy Microsoft Windows DNA Exposed, I want to give you some insight into why the book was written, and what information the book contains. In late 1998 we realized that very little information existed on the Windows DNA framework. What information did exist was loosely scattered throughout the Microsoft web site in the form of white papers and other technical documentation. We realized that this could make it difficult for project managers, developers and other decision-makers to acquire an overall understanding of the Windows DNA framework. Even if decision-makers understand the concepts behind the DNA framework, they may not have a very good understanding of what tools and technologies are available to implement it. This book was designed with these people in mind. This book provides a high level, but very comprehensive overview of Windows DNA, and includes important information about the tools and technologies that are available to implement DNA-based solutions. It also includes realistic examples of how these tools and technologies can be used. This book does not contain example code, nor does it delve into minute detail about using each and every tool and technology available to develop Windows DNA solutions--entire books are dedicated to each tool and technology discussed in Microsoft Windows DNA Exposed. If you are an experienced MCSD, MCSE or are already familiar with Windows DNA and the Microsoft tools and technologies, this book may not be advanced enough for you. If you're new to Windows DNA, or you want a good resource delineating the tools and technologies that can be leveraged as you implement DNA solutions, Microsoft Windows DNA Exposed is the book for you. Happy reading!
