24 pp (iv). 15 monochrome illustrations. An essay on Michelangelo's "The Crucifixion of St. Peter", fresco, painted 1546-1550 in the Cappella Paolina in the Vatican. Signed and dedicated by the author "with kind wishes for the reader" in black ink on the bastard title page. Internally clean and sound (tip of tail corner of one page bent).
