Como escritor para Lonely Planet, Daniel C. Schechter ha trabajado en, como mínimo, 15 guías, sobretodo México y la América Latina pero también España y Países Bajos. También es traductor de español al inglés de libros, textos de exhibiciones museísticas y numerosos artículos para revistas. Nativo de Brooklyn, comenzó a viajar de muy joven y vivió durante largos periodos en Colombia, Portugal, España, Puerto Rico y México. Antes de convertirse en autor de Lonely Planet trabajó como editor de prensa y profesor de inglés durante ocho años. Como ávido ciclista escogió los Países Bajos como hogar en 2010.
Josephine Quintero empezó su carrera como periodista en una revista de vinos y estilo de vida en el valle de Napa. Curiosamente, después se mudó al árido Kuwait, donde dirigió el Kuwaiti Digest durante seis años, hasta el 1 de agosto de 1990, día de la invasión iraquí. Tras seis semanas retenida como rehén huyó a Turquía y acabó en Andalucía, donde se gana la vida escribiendo. Es colaboradora habitual de Lonely Planet.
