Five?Try twenty.Based on an incredible true story, Mething Around pulls back the curtain on a life lived on the edge of two completely different realities. On the surface, she was everything society expected-responsible, present, and living a normal everyday life. But beneath the polished facade was a gripping, secret addiction to methamphetamine that quietly spanned two decades. In a raw, candid, and deeply human account, this book explores the grueling emotional gymnastics required to maintain a high-functioning double life. From the constant paranoia of being discovered to the exhausting daily ritual of covering her tracks, Mething Around dives headfirst into the hidden world of middle-class addiction-where the biggest monster isn't just the drug itself, but the shame, silence, and isolation that keep it alive.Inside this gripping memoir, you'll experience: The Illusion of Control: An intimate look at how high-functioning addiction operates in plain sight without raising red flags. The Weight of the Secret: The intense psychological toll of maintaining two distinct identities for twenty long years. The Reality Beyond the Stereotype: A powerful challenge to the conventional narrative of what an addict "looks like."The Path to Truth: A story of survival, resilience, and the relentless courage it takes to finally tear down the walls and step out of the shadows.Unflinchingly honest, emotionally charged, and impossible to put down, Mething Around is more than just a story of addiction-it is a profound exploration of human survival, secrets, and the long journey toward authenticity.
