Item description from seller

15 p.; 23 cm. Blue wrapper printed in black; sewn. "With the Compliment of Wm. Blasius" -- on front wrapper. William Blasius (1818-1899), born Heinrich Wilhelm Blasius in Germany, came to the United States in 1850. He published Storms: Their Nature, Classification and Laws in 1875. In this paper he argues for improving the scientific method used to study the weather, while also critiquing the work of Elias Loomis (1811-1889), who played an instrumental role in the development of weather maps. Very scarce. In Very Good Condition: wrapper is lightly soiled with minor loss at edges; light creasing; pages are clean and solid.
