Kat Wallace is one of the "have-nots" in the harsh world of 24th-century New Earth. After floods, fires, and pandemics ravaged Old Earth, reshaping its landscapes and decimating its people, a scrappy, resilient humanity emerged to rebuild.

New Earth brims with fresh nations and, for some, renewed hope. Yet, much like the past, the vulnerable remain at the mercy of the powerful.

Raised in the bleak North Country by indifferent, overworked parents, Kat learns early how to survive on her own. But nothing prepares her for the nightmare that unfolds when she’s captured by human traffickers and sold into brutal servitude. Facing sadistic cruelty, Kat discovers a fierce strength she never knew she possessed—a will not just to endure but to escape.

Her journey to freedom leads her to Bosch, a pirate nation on a wild island where independence and resilience reign. Under the guidance of Teddy, Bosch’s spirited leader, Kat joins the Bosch Pirate Force, vowing to rescue others from bondage and avenge her suffering.

Yet, just as she begins to make her mark, an unexpected love challenges her loyalties, and a choice she never saw coming may tear her away from her newfound home forever.

Sarah Branson first started conjuring stories of pirates when her family hopped a freighter to Australia when she was seven. She has since grown up, traveling the globe, raising a family, and working as a receptionist, retail clerk, writing tutor, and certified nurse midwife. She also taught science and history to middle school and high school students in the U.S., Brazil and Japan. Through these myriad experiences, she has developed a deep appreciation for people's strength and endurance and believes that badass women will inherit the earth. Sarah is still weaving pirate tales in her head and now, on paper, phone and computer, for your reading enjoyment. She draws on all of these experiences when creating stories about strong women and men finding adventure, love and their paths in worlds that are constantly changing. Sarah lives with her husband and various aging pets in Connecticut. For more information, please visit www.sarahbranson.com.
