What if you could build a mental health friendly culture at your school instead of just responding to mental health crises? Springtide's newest research from over 4,000 surveys and 80 interviews with young people ages 13 to 25 shows exactly what young people need in order to thrive in their schools, revealing a model for addressing mental health proactively among students.

This report is part of the Springtide Series on Mental Health. In this report, we rely on a data set of over 4,000 surveys, with more than 3,000 completed by students, and 80 in-depth interviews with a specific focus on mental health in schools and educational settings.
Future reports and resources in the series will focus on how families, religious communities, and workplaces can foster young people's mental and emotional well-being. The series emphasizes stories young people share in interviews-- not just statistics from surveys. Our survey research enables us to reach a nationally representative group of young people and report on quantifiable trends. Our interviews enable us to discern nuances embedded in the details of young people's lives.
Taken together, these two types of data illuminate the needs of young people and ways organizational leaders might be able to help.
