Barritus is amassing the biggest army the fledgling Earth has ever seen, with the goal of conquering the world. But Alcyone stands in his way.
After evading him in Titus, now Deor, Sam and their companions are in hiding, trying to stay beyond the reach of the Meropan Empire.
However, Barritus' shadow is long, and nowhere in Alcyone is safe anymore. Hiding from the patrollers is the least of their worries now. Surviving the crushing rule of Barritus is the far more pressing matter.
Then, an attack changes everything, and the fate of two Alcyonans lies in the balance.
