In these lines of prose poetry, there are repeated attempts to state the obvious - but truth is the most elusive of goals, and the poems in The Memory Theater Burned bear witness to the myriad difficulties encountered in its pursuit. Damon Krukowski writes in a number of voices: the voice of the singer (Krukowski's day job), the teller of tales, the neurotic on the couch...with echoes of diverse literary sources: midrash, classical rhetoric, hermetic writings, and all manner of memoirs, travelogues, and testimonials.
