Scarce local history book focusing on Icelandic settlers in the British Columbia community of Osland. Comprised largely of individual family histories written by the family members themselves and compiled by the editor; profusely illustrated with emphasis on family members. Near Fine to Fine condition in original softcover. From the intro: "Along with the memories of thirty-seven Oslanders, there are excerpts from "Grandfather's Stories of the Phillipson Family" as written by Johann Phillipson: some of the minutes, records and letters pertaining to the Osland Farmers' Institute; a few newspaper clippings regarding former students, excerpts from letters, and some entire letters from, or to, Osland people; writings about the "Osland Sidewalk", "Bremner Lake", "Bremner Creek and the North Bridge", "Osland Park Government Wharf", "Rev. W. F. Rushbrook and the 'Northern Cross' ", "The Quarry and Osland Granite Works", the poem "Skeena River Fishermen"; and items about four Osland pioneers, written 1996 by Thura Johnson, were provided for this book by Robert Johnson."
