William Logan Fisher (1781-1862) argues against petitions to the Pennsylvania legislature in favor of increased enforcement of Sunday laws, which prohibited travel on Sunday among other things. The Quaker and mill owner was particularly unhappy that the Pennsylvania Rail Road Company has suspended travel on Sunday, although turnpikes and other routes still functioned. Scarce.
