Originally published in the early 1700s, these are the memoirs of Philibert, comte de Grammont, a member of a noble French family of Basque origin, who spent much time in the courts of Charles II and Louis XIV. Written by his brother-in-law, Antoine Hamilton. This edition is edited with notes by Sir Walter Scott. "With portrait of the author and eleven other etchings by L. Boisson after original designs by C. Delort." G (Spine and boards have aged to varying colors; head and heel of outer spine are worn, with some missing material at head; pages have only minor edge aging.).
