Add to basketNot a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm Mexican stereo vinyl record, RCA Victor MKS-1224 with an orange label, near-mint vinyl in a near-mint cardboard jacket; "Hecho en Mexico." Whether Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan is actually el major Mariachi del mundo we don't know; that's the name of the album. Record label dated 1959, generally held to be a 1960 release, though as this one is stereo it's almost certainly a later reissue; these orange labels started showing up in the States around 1968. Most selections credited "S(ilvestre) Vargas-R(uben) Fuentes"; includes "El Tranchete," "El Maracumbe," "El Carretero," "El Tirador," "Camino Real de Colima," etc. Reduced from $30.
