Meet Max: Learning about Divorce from a Basset Hound's Perspective features Max, the family dog whose owners decide to divorce. When Max first learns about divorce from his favorite seven-year-old boy, Max experiences sadness, anger, and confusion until his friend Otis, the rabbit, helps him accept this new change. Meet Max allows children to identify with a family pet who is experiencing emotions and sharing concerns they may recognize in themselves. Meet Max is meant to be read together by parents (or other family members) and their children who are impacted by divorce.
