Mathematik, Statistik und Versicherung - "Auch selbst hat sich Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) eingehend mit Fragen der Versicherungsmathematik, insbesondere des Barwertes, des Gesundheitswesens und der Statistik befa�t. Er forderte die j�hrliche Ver�ffentlichung von Geburts- und Sterbelisten im Interesse des Ausbaus der Personenversicherung. Au�erdem dachte er an eine "Reservekasse als Nothpfennig f�r Witwen und Waisen", wof�r jedem Beamten von seiner Besoldung jeweils ein bestimmter Betrag abgezogen werden sollte, um die Hinterbliebenen vor dem �u�ersten Ruin und Armut nach dem Tode des Ern�hrers zu sch�tzen. Dem weiteren Fortschritt des Versicherungswesens kam schlie�lich au�er der Erfindung seiner Rechenmaschine die Entwicklung der Zinseszinsrechnung zu statten, die er 1683 in der damaligen Gelehrtenzeitschrift "Acta Eruditorum" ver�ffentlichte."
