Item description from seller

80 x 135 mm. From March 1891 to c. 1908 any meat shipped from a slaughterhouse was required to be accompanied by a tag if a complete carcass, or with a stamp as here, if shipped as individual pieces in crates. The stamps were cancelled with 5 parallel wavy lines and the inspector's name or abattoir number. Usually they were firmly affixed using paste, five staples [one in each corner and one in the middle], before being coated in varnish. Consequently it is increasing difficult to find stamps in acceptable condition.
