Paperback. Underlining and ticks in margin in pen to some pages. Previous owners name and ex-libris name sticker to insider cover. This book presupposes that the reader has a sound knowledg of the life and works of Samuel Johnson. For these connoisseurs the course of Johnson's life need not be described again; and I have therefore considered it superfluous to add a biographical part to this book. I shall refer to relevant passagesin the classical biographies if necessary. A literary evaluation has likewise been omitted. Whenever elements of style or syntax values are involved, I shall refer to recognized authorities in this field. This book is thus a pathographic essay with the exclusive goal of throwing some medical light upon Johnson and his oeuvre in so fas as this has not yet been done. 229 pp. We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. etc.).
