When Max discovers an old treasure map hidden in his grandfather's dusty attic, he and his best friends, Ben and Lucy, set off with Rusty, their loyal golden retriever, to uncover its secrets.
Following mysterious clues, hidden trails, and the legendary Stone Eagle, the Backyard Explorers Club must use teamwork, careful observation, and problem-solving to figure out where the map is leading them. But as the clues become more challenging and the adventure takes an unexpected turn, they'll need courage, perseverance, and trust in one another to keep going.
Along the way, Max, Ben, and Lucy discover that being an explorer isn't just about finding hidden places. It's about asking questions, thinking creatively, helping your friends, learning from the past, and having the courage to keep going when things don't go as planned.
Max and the Secret Cave is the exciting first adventure in the Backyard Explorers Club series—an illustrated chapter book filled with mystery, friendship, discovery, and age-appropriate adventure
Perfect for independent readers ages 6–10 and a fun read-aloud for ages 5–7, especially for children who love mysteries, treasure hunts, secret caves, dogs, outdoor adventures, and exploration.
A story that encourages young readers to stay curious, work together, solve problems, and discover where their own sense of adventure can lead them.
