71 pp. Deutsch.…

Max Pechstein, who was one of the most notable German Expressionist artists and a central figure in the artists' group Brücke, was already a successful painter and graphic artist during his lifetime. Franz Marc exclaimed that he was the "little Napoleon of Berlin's artist community" for his role as a trailblazer of the rebellious "New Secession" in the early twentieth century. Pechstein's greatest artistic achievements, his life course, and rare documents from the family archive are brought together in this bibliophilic volume to form a new highlight in the series.
