Item description from seller

A Good copy in its original wrappers. Clean and unmarked inside, though the paper wrappers are taped at the spine. ACLU library stamps to all three edges and title page, which also carries the National Coalition Against Censorship library stamp. Library file card holder on front wrapper. 993 pages. 5.75" x 9.25". The official transcripts for Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer’s (1904–1967) security clearance hearing in the spring of 1954. The director of the Manhattan Project’s loyalty to the US came into question due to his affiliation with Communist groups and his voiced concerns over the ethics of the very weapons he helped create. The hearing, which ultimately revoked Oppenheimer’s security clearance, lasted a month and forever tarnished his name. .
