About the Author
Chris McGrane has been working in mathematics education for 15 years, having taught in four very different schools. He has previously led a department in developing pedagogy, the curriculum and improving attainment. Much of this work was centred on designing and adapting high-quality mathematical tasks. Chris has worked as a CPD consultant with La Salle Education, delivering CPD and training across Scotland, from Galashiels to Lerwick and everywhere else in between. However, the call of the classroom never left and Chris is now Principal Teacher of Mathematics in Scotland's largest school. Chris is also involved in running the Glasgow branch of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) and runs the popular website startingpointsmaths.com. Chris can be found on Twitter as @chrismcgrane84
