Exiting a business is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make—and one of the hardest to get right. Master Planning: The Art of Exiting Your Business provides business owners with a clear, proven roadmap for transitioning out of ownership with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
Drawing on more than five decades of combined experience, Hawley MacLean and Dan Springer share the strategies, pitfalls, and insights that can mean the difference between regret and fulfillment. From building your “dream team” of advisors and understanding your true business value, to planning for unexpected life events and securing your legacy, this book equips you to exit on your terms and begin your next chapter with peace of mind.
Whether you’re years away from selling or facing the decision sooner than expected, this guide will help you protect what you’ve built, maximize its value, and ensure the future you’ve envisioned becomes reality.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Hawley MacLean is the founder and President of MacLean Financial Group, where, since 1990, he has helped clients protect and grow their financial freedom through all of life’s transitions. With a family legacy in wealth management spanning over 150 years, Hawley has become a trusted leader in financial planning and exit strategy. A Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, co-founder of Heritage Bank of Nevada, and recipient of the American Heart Association’s “Man of the Year” award, Hawley is widely recognized for both professional excellence and community service. When not advising clients, he enjoys traveling with his family, skiing, and working with live steam engines and Garden Model Railroads.
Dan Springer is Director of the Wealth Planning Team at MacLean Financial Group, where he specializes in guiding business owners, families, and individuals through comprehensive financial and exit planning. With over twenty years of experience in banking and wealth management, Dan has developed a proprietary approach to help entrepreneurs optimize their strategies and protect their legacies.
