407 pp. Octavo. Illustrated buff coloured paper wrappers. Illustrated throughout with black and white plates, mostly taken from photographs. A very small, closed tear near the spine on the front wrap; some creasing to the bottom corner of the back wrap. Slight slant to the binding. (The book was put together more like a mass market paperback!) Otherwise, a clean attractive copy of a scarce book. AB 1458. An autobiography with chapters on the Canadian Arctic expeditions under Captain Bernier's command on the Canadian government steamship "Arctic". With the bookplate of Canadian polar collector, Andrew Taylor and the inscription of Ann Shirley stating she bought the book from Colin Bull in January 1998.
