Paperback. The Sun is not the source. Most books on Freemasonry describe Degree 28 in passing. This book goes further. It treats the Knight of the Sun as one of the most important and misunderstood thresholds in the Scottish Rite: a degree of symbolism, anti-idolatry, hidden law, and the making of the Prince Adept.Drawing from the modern public summary, older Masonic reference traditions, Albert Pike's philosophical expansion, and archival revision traces, this work reconstructs the deeper architecture of the degree. It shows why Knight of the Sun, Prince Adept, Key of Masonry, and Chaos Disentangled are not ornamental titles, but a complete doctrine of symbolic ascent, interpretive power, and moral danger.Inside this book you will find a deep examination of: the true meaning of Degree 28 in the Scottish RitePike and the search for the Absolutethe anti-idolatry secret at the heart of the degreethe Hermetic, alchemical, and Kabbalistic layersthe elite formation of the Prince Adeptthe psychological installation of symbolic authoritythe failure modes of illumination, vanity, and self-deificationritual history, revision, and the sanitization problemthe hidden structure behind The Sun Behind the SunThis is not a superficial overview. It is a serious interpretive study of one of Freemasonry's most philosophically charged degrees, written for readers interested in Scottish Rite Masonry, Albert Pike, esoteric symbolism, occult history, ritual analysis, and the deeper structure of the secret degrees. For students of Freemasonry, researchers of symbolism, and readers drawn to the hidden architecture of ritual power, this book offers a dark, precise, and ambitious reading of Degree 28.To understand the Knight of the Sun, you must first learn why the light is not the final thing. The Sun is not the source.
Most books on Freemasonry describe Degree 28 in passing. This book goes further. It treats the Knight of the Sun as one of the most important and misunderstood thresholds in the Scottish Rite: a degree of symbolism, anti-idolatry, hidden law, and the making of the Prince Adept.
Drawing from the modern public summary, older Masonic reference traditions, Albert Pike’s philosophical expansion, and archival revision traces, this work reconstructs the deeper architecture of the degree. It shows why Knight of the Sun, Prince Adept, Key of Masonry, and Chaos Disentangled are not ornamental titles, but a complete doctrine of symbolic ascent, interpretive power, and moral danger.
Inside this book you will find a deep examination of:
-
the true meaning of Degree 28 in the Scottish Rite
-
Pike and the search for the Absolute
-
the anti-idolatry secret at the heart of the degree
-
the Hermetic, alchemical, and Kabbalistic layers
-
the elite formation of the Prince Adept
-
the psychological installation of symbolic authority
-
the failure modes of illumination, vanity, and self-deification
-
ritual history, revision, and the sanitization problem
-
the hidden structure behind The Sun Behind the Sun
This is not a superficial overview. It is a serious interpretive study of one of Freemasonry’s most philosophically charged degrees, written for readers interested in Scottish Rite Masonry, Albert Pike, esoteric symbolism, occult history, ritual analysis, and the deeper structure of the secret degrees.
For students of Freemasonry, researchers of symbolism, and readers drawn to the hidden architecture of ritual power, this book offers a dark, precise, and ambitious reading of Degree 28.
To understand the Knight of the Sun, you must first learn why the light is not the final thing.
