Mary Jones and Her Bible by Mary Ropes recounts the inspiring true story of a young Welsh girl whose determination to own a Bible became a powerful symbol of faith and perseverance. Set in the early nineteenth century, the book follows Mary’s remarkable journey and highlights the challenges faced by ordinary people in obtaining books at a time when they were scarce and expensive. Her story helped inspire the wider distribution of Bibles and contributed to the founding of the British and Foreign Bible Society. A moving and uplifting account of devotion, courage and the enduring importance of literacy and faith.
