Footballers have never been more boring than today. Never further from asking her trainer for leave of absence to record a record with a pornstar, just like Mario Basler once did with Dolly Buster. And never has the audience's longing for "types" with corners and edges greater. Mario Basler was an absolute exceptional player and was considered a free spirit in a world of trained athletes. He was a German champion, cup winner, national player and European champion - and always good for headlines. Public nicotine and alcohol consumption, showcased training displeasure, interviews that would be megahits on social media today: Basler always did only what he wanted. An attitude that to this day makes it impossible not to love or hate this man. That's why Youtube clips in which he pulls off the leather as a TV expert have more than half a million views. That's why almost 1000 spectators come to his new stage show. And that's why everyone who longs for a football that may never be there again will love his autobiography.
