ERIC A. WEISS, M.D., FaCEP, is an Associate Professor of Surgery, Division of Emergency Medicine, and the Director of the Wilderness Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. Weiss has been medical officer for the for the 1996 Summer Olympics, for National Geographic Society Expeditions, and in Nepal for the Himalayan Rescue Association. He is also the author of Wilderness 911, a backcountry medical primer published by Mountaineers Books.
MICHAEL JACOBS, M.D., is the author of Survival at Sea, and the founder and program director for the Medicine for Mariners and Safety at Sea Conference. He is a USCG licensed captain and an avid sailor and kayaker.
