Hardcover, 30 X 25 cm, 143 pages, Dutch, English, Illustrations, condition: As New Serendipity. A concept that is perfectly applicable to the work of the Belgian painter Marcase. For the past forty years he has been 'discovering what he wasn't looking for' - and his audience with him - on canvases that transcend simplicity. The typical 'Marcase line' gives rise to an unimagined world. This book provides a beautiful survey of Marcase's oeuvre, with a focus on his most recent paintings. Professor Willem Elias, who has followed the artist's career from the very beginning, provides an illuminating essay. [This description may have been translated by AI.].
