Item description from seller

A very rare piece of cartographic ephemera. This is a 3-page promotion/catalogue for Ensign, Bridgman & Fanning maps and charts, along with the original illustrated used mailing envelope which is in the general style of a Civil War patriotic cover. One sheet folded, with the back panel blank. Undated except that one of the items listed for sale is a chart, "The Great Rebellion of 1861; a Military and Railroad Map of the U. S." The catalogue has lists of maps, pocket maps and guides, charts, and books. Most are cartographically related, but some have religious themes or other subject matter. The envelope is addressed to Jefferson Hartman, Shamokin Dam, in Snyder County, Pennsylvania and dated October 21 (no year). Map-related ephemera of this sort is extremely scarce, particularly in such fine condition and complete with the original.
