Large map, Un Framed. Engraved surface approx 18 x 12.5 inches PLATE number I In very good condition. Vertical centre crease. Slight send crease top edge of centre fold. Some light tanning on edges. Else a very clean example. This double hemisphere map is dated 1775 published in Atlas Moderne in 1775 and is decorated with very elaborate cartouches. An attractive hand coloured and decorative map. Decorative double hemisphere map of the world, immediately after the report of Cook's first voyage. The map reflects the improvements in New Zealand (no longer solely based upon Abel Tasman) and Australia, which includes much of the same coastline described by Cook.
