- Biography and Autobiography
Throughout the war years, as I studied the activities of the Canadian Red Cross in England and in France, I wondered if the people who raised the money and knitted the socks realized in the very least what a help ful part they were playing in the great struggle.
The most that I hope for this little book is that it will give to the people across the sea who have worked so long and so faithfully for the Sick and wounded, and for those who have suffered through the war, some clear and gratifying impressions of that many-sided, enter prising, sympathetic organization they supported, which built itself up to be one of the wonders of the war.
