Item description from seller

57x47 cm. 2 maps on one previously folded sheet. Separation at one fold junction, short splits along two folds. The Map of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec measures 24x38 vm. The map of the world, showing shipping routes in color, is 23x37 cm. The map of the region shows from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and features proposed routes of a railroad across the isthmus in the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Vera Cruz. The routes run roughly from the modern town of Coatzacoalcos to Salina Cruz on the Pacific Ocean. These maps were issued separately in the book The Tehuantepec Railway, Its Location, Features and Advantages Under the La Sere Grant of 1869. D. Appleton & Co . 1869. It does not appear that this example, with both maps on one sheet, was bound into a book. davidrumsey 3909.002 & 3909.003.
