12.7x20 cm. 4-page manuscript letter responding to inquiries about this mining company in central Maine. Bottom left corners chipped, with small loss to text on the first three pages. On the back of two of the pages of the letter are copies of the same small map showing the location of the mines in Blue Hill, Maine. The letter refers to the map. The map is easily placeable in relation to modern locations, with Third Pond retaining that name. The Main Road shown on the map running between Third and Douglass (now Second) Ponds is now called Mines Road.
