Item description from seller

Manuscript. Approximately 565 loose sheets comprised of roughly an equal number of typed and holograph pages. All slightly toned with edge wear, very good. Burman's manuscript for his 1945 novel about a Mississippi steamboat captain's journey on the Congo, with a multitude of corrections and revisions throughout. Accompanying the manuscript is an Autograph Note Signed from Burman to his book editor delivering the finished work. With a supplied copy of the first edition of *Rooster Crows for Day* (New York: E.P. Dutton 1945).…
