See list below. A collection of mostly hand-written items pertaining to the Hopkinson family, with a few printed cards. This lot came to us in an ephemera group that we bought at auction. Offered as a group. Good or better condition. 1. Folded sheet 12 x 15 inches, A Record of the Hopkinson Family commencing 1751. David Hopkinson (1751-1830) married to Sarah Kennedy (1754-1820), the family lived in Salem, Vt. Lists nine children, where they died, where they are buried, one was a Lieutenant of Militia and another a Colonel of Militia.2. Folded sheet 12 x 15 inches, (1751) David Hopkinson's Children's Marriages. Noyes Hopkinson to Lusina Humphrey, Dec. 5th, 1811 at Burke, Vt. The lived in Derby Center, Vt., and had 5 children, their names and some particulars are listed. Lucina died in 1840 and Noyes was married the second time to Sarah Burt Grove, the divorced wife of Dr. Grove of Hartland, Vt. The children of Noyes Hopkinson and their marriages are listed.3. Folded sheet 12 x 15 inches, Noyes Hopkinson's Childrens' Marriages. David Hopkinson to Clarrisa Hinman Forbes married March 1848. Lived Derby Center, Vt. 4 children. Second marriage of David Hopkinson to Anna Bowman Farr; one child.4. Small manuscript wedding invitation Salem, July 25th, 1847, at Col. N. Hopkinsons, with envelope addressed to Mr. H. D. Pike & Lady.5. Hand-written 4 x 6 marriage certificate of James Valentine Mansfield of Norwich, Ct, to Mary Hopkinson of Salem in the county of Orleans & State of Vermont, July 25th, 1847. Signed "by me", Mylon Merriam, Minister. [Rev. Mylon Merriam (1811-1860), Colby College graduate, he was pastor of several Baptist churches in New England during his ministry.]6. A very detailed list of the genealogy of David Hopkinson and Sarah Kennedy in a different hand, down to the year 1873. There are 42 lines written on this folded sheet, 8 x 10 inches.7. A letter written by Noyes Hopkinson in a very neat hand, dated from Salem [Vt], July 6th, 1855. He writes to "Dear Children" and laments that their mother is not in very good health and could not make the journey to visit them. He addresses some financial matters and sends greetings. The letters was folded as its own envelope and is addressed "Mr. James Mansfield, Chelsea, Mass." There is no postage stamp but there is a faint cancel mark.8. The last will and testament of Noyes Hopkinson, written August 31, 1860, by his own hand. It is several sheets held together by sealing wax, with some portions crossed out. His heirs include his wife Sarah, his daughters Emily Cheney, Mary Mansfield, and Sarah Pike, and his son David Hopkinson. He appoints Samuel Cheney of Derby and his son David as executors. Includes the tattered remains of an envelope.9-11. Three printed cards; the calling card of Mary G. Mansfield; the business card of Mrs. M. H. Mansfield, "Importer of Paris Fashions, 61 West 42nd St., New York; and the business card of S. Strouse & Co., Manufacturers of Cloaks, 589 Broadway, NY.12. Manuscript written on the stationary of City Clerk's Office, Chelsea, Mass., dated Feb. 20, 1879, to James V. & Marh H. Mansfield. This letter informs them that their hous on Chestnut St. has a mortgage of $2,500 against it by order of th eSuprement Court, granted to one Robert L. Pratt. It appeals to the Mansfields to settle the mortage at $2,000 since "no doubt the Counsel for the heirs will advise them to take possession for a breach of the condition contained in the said mortgage & sell it."
