The author explores the history and development of the Christian liturgical calendar, tracing its practices back to early Christian ceremonial. Many traditions found in mainstream Christianity can be linked to practices of the pre-Nicene Church and this book shows how these practices tie into current worship patterns. The book is an insightful guide to the richness of the Christian Year and will be a precious reference point for those desiring a deeper understanding of the traditions and worship practices of Christianity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
