Print on Demand. This book offers a comprehensive guide to teaching arithmetic to primary grade students. It is grounded in the Natural Method, which emphasizes logic and analysis over rote learning. The author's method is to teach arithmetic both as an art and science, fostering a deep understanding of number concepts. This book covers the fundamental operations of numbers—all based on the combination of integers from one to nine. Concepts such as number combination, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are introduced using small numbers within easy comprehension of young children. However, it also delves into the theory of the decimal system, providing a solid foundation for further mathematical studies. The book emphasizes written processes based on oral analysis and introduces definitions, principles, and rules after the problems. This approach helps students understand the reasoning behind each operation and facilitates long-term retention. The exercises in this book are designed to be engaging and progressive, moving from simple number combinations to more complex computations, with an assortment of written and oral exercises, drills, and review sections. By employing this method, the author aims to develop computational accuracy and fluency in primary grade students. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Product Description
The author has long contemplated the issuing of a manual of methods and suggestions, to accompany the graded-school Arithmetics, but circumstances beyond his control have pre vented its preparation until the present year.
The manual now presented is specially designed for those teachers who desire to improve their methods of teaching arithmetic, and it is hoped that it may prove as useful as its plan is unique.
