- Book 1 of 1: Mantis
Chain-smoking bisexual, Mantis, finds herself amid a demon apocalypse. With the book of Revelations unfurling before her very eyes, she recruits a reformed prostitute, a bubbly stripper, and a hopelessly smitten DJ to try to stop the biblical event in its tracks. Can the uproarious crew of misfit degenerates save the world before it's destroyed?
Locked and loaded with sinister creatures, twisted villains, violent action, and a horny heroine with the charm of a rabid wolverine, Mantis will take you on a hilarious, blood-soaked road trip through the bowels of America's deep south and drop you on the doorstep of the Devil.
From the demented author of The Rictus Grin and Other Tales of Insanity & Writhe comes a profane, blood-soaked, laugh-out-loud novel full of guts, gore, and good times. A religious, comedic-horror blend of Dogma and From Dusk Til Dawn recommended for fans of Chuck Wendig and Christopher Moore.
This version is the faster-paced, re-edited, abridged version of the 2016 release, published by Rusty Ogre Publishing.
PRAISE FOR MANTIS:
"Summers weaves and apocalyptic vision of reality with love, friendship, and a f*load of witty, gun-toting Texans." - David-Jack Fletcher, award-winning author of Raven's Creek.
"Mantis is unapologetically irreverent, and over the top in its gleeful indulgences. Characters and dialogue that say what if Kevin Smith wrote This is The End?" - J. Sizemore, author
"Welcome to the underbelly of the apocalypse! Filled with blood, guts, and humor, Summers gives us a mash of the most unlikely characters to save the world from Hell. Mantis has a charm all its own, and with tight, fast-paced storytelling, the action and antics just keep on coming. The chemistry among the characters is excellent and makes for a laugh-out-loud, bloody good time!" -Ezekiel Kincaid, author of Johnny Walker Ranger: Demon Slayer Vol 1 & 2.
