Is there anything that we can point to and say, there, that is life? Remove that, and you remove life from the body?" "The soul transcends us from simple animals fearing only death to higher intelligences, asking about the nature of the universe. It is a mechanism for growth." "We know that life adapts, or tries to adapt, to everything it encounters. Why would it not have adapted to corporeal death?" "Divine purpose is imposed on us by the inherent substance and ground of the universe." "From simplistic ghost stories to complex theological systems, the human experience has always led to a world view that includes alternate realities." "Can this delicate balance of temperature, atmosphere, and light-energy that breathes life into a wondrously complex biosphere called Earth be just an accident?" "The quest, then, is not so much to determine how the human mind can be derived from our organic bodies, but whether." "Can it be that our liberal, secular educations are couching us all in a frame of mind that no longer allows us to conceive openly of worlds and life beyond the temporal?" "Far from miracles happening only in ancient days, people still experience other-worldly phenomena daily.". …
