About the Author: Stephane Groueff is a Bulgarian born journalist and author. After the Communists siezed power in 1944, he lived in exile in Switzerland, France and the United States. He was a reporter for Paris Match with the magazine's original team and became its New York Bureau Chief for twenty years, until 1978. As a United States citizen, he now lives in New York with his American wife.
