Print on Demand. This book provides profound insight into the history, culture, language, and archaeology of the Mandan people of the Northern Plains. Placed within the extensive historical context of the many detailed accounts of early European explorers, the author presents a rich illustration of the intriguing culture of the Mandans through an analysis of their material remains. The book offers not only a summary of the archaeological excavations conducted at historical Mandan village sites, but also a thorough summary of the ethnohistorical documentation available on this once-powerful tribe. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
