Plates, [2], map frontispiece and extra engraved title page both on India Proof Paper. Uncut. Wortham, Printer, Manchester" - t.p. verso. P [5] partially browned. Occasional light spotting. Publisher's cloth backed boards with gilt illustration on the upper cover, sometime rebacked with new title label. Yellow glazed endpapers, bookplate on the front pastedown, and above a pencil note -' Large - paper copy | 40 printed.' Overall a very good copy, of rare large paper copy. There is no edition statement in the book, Sutton, Bibliotheca Lancastria, p.70 - ' . printed on large paper, only 40 copies printed. ' The large paper copies are in octavo format, the standard edition is in duodecimo format,the Cheethams Library large paper copy states - ' Leech Collection copy LCH.160 is a larger paper edition, published the same year with identical pagination.' This is incorrect the pagination is not identical. Fishwick, p.131, states - ' A few copies were printed on large paper.' Richard Hollingworth, who was a fellow ofChrist's College, Manchester, died in 1656, after being imprisoned and being deprived of his income arising from his fellowship in consequence of the breaking up of the collegiate body.
