Paperback. The Mammoth Sunflower is a soul-stirring piece of American Literature that reflects on the human experience within leader-centered and idealistic societies, on discovery, and on the divine strength of sincerity. In this brief yet profound work, Jensen invites readers on a roughly 30-minute journey drawing parallels between the life cycle of the mammoth sunflower and the life cycle of what he calls "Sincere Individuals" in an honest pursuit toward truth.Rooted in lyrical prose, poetic nature writing, wordplay, and symbolic allusions sowed throughout, this modern experimental allegory strikes a note calling for a "return to the natural"-to the "Earth," or in other words, to our own "Souls." Through its unique format and symbolism, The Mammoth Sunflower does not just tell a story-it becomes a living text and encourages readers to teach themselves their own lessons, to reflect, and ultimately to sing their own songs, forever. An undeniable emphasis is placed on his belief in the importance of being a teacher and yet that the best lessons in life are the ones we teach ourselves. With the other core beliefs of this text being "Sincerity is Divinity" and that "There doesn't have to be an Armageddon," Jensen delicately unfurls a framework for healthy rediscovery-of self, of purpose, of our societies, and of a shared humanity among all in their honest pursuit toward truth experiencing changes. Acting both as a standalone experience and a prelude to his forthcoming work Heaven in Earth, this book sets the stage for a symphony. An experimental allegory that explores the life journey of Sincere Individuals in an honest pursuit toward truth who are born within ideal-filled and leader-centered societies by comparing it to the life cycle of the Mammoth Sunflower.
