1967. Southern Argentina. A lone professor pedals his tricycle into the wastelands—chased by monsters in top hats and war machines that should not exist.
Professor Honorio Tremebundo has stolen an ancient incunabulum from the university of Buen Ayre, and the Thermonucleus wants it back—badly. The book points to Emithiopea, a lost city of creators said to drift beneath the stars… and to a terrifying truth: something is coming from the void. A star-born presence, patient and hungry, tied to the last hope humanity has left.
But there’s a problem. To reach Emithiopea, Tremebundo must first find the last mechanical titan, a colossal relic rumored to roam the Patagonian deserts—returning home like a warhorse that remembers its stable.
Along the way, he gathers an unlikely band of survivors from the Great War:
-
Bambú, stubborn and ferocious, with machetes and a temper to match
-
Lukas Von Deema, an engineer with secrets and iron nerves
-
Gabriele, a coin charmer with fast hands and faster luck
-
Tornillo, a strange little girl who never looks the same twice
Together, they will cross tunnels, sea-like grasslands, ruins, and airship shadows—while the Thermonucleus closes in with its war blimps, its laughing hordes, and its beautiful, ruthless obsession with control.
MALFUNCTION! is a retrofuturistic, darkly funny adventure with four possible endings—a pulp-flavored ride where every choice can cost a life… or save a world.
