Moderate toning, occasional light foxing, light soiling in a few places, lower corner of first leaf lacking without loss to text, small "2" to title page, early handwritten page numbers to rectos. $350. * Only edition. Speeches by Charles II and Edward Hyde, his Lord Chancellor, given at the opening of the first session of the Cavalier Parliament. Both speeches address Charles's prospective marriage to Catherine of Braganza, the daughter of the king of Portugal, in order to cement an alliance with Portugal.
