Paperback. Twelve-year-old Tobi has never had much: a crooked, creaking house, parents who work themselves ragged just to survive, and a daily walk to school past the boys who never tire of reminding him how poor he is. But one night a strange glittering in the forest leads him to an unremarkable wooden stick - and to Tillo, a grumpy little gnome who wants it back at any cost. Tobi senses that the stick is far more than it appears. It is the key to a hidden world made entirely of magic, woven from the legacy of the witches of Salem and the descendants who carried their power across the globe. To find his place in it, Tobi must face trials, riddles, and unexpected friends and foes - and awaken the spark that has been slumbering inside him all along. The Secret of the Blue Stone is the first volume of The Magic of Witches: an atmospheric coming-of-age fantasy about courage, belonging, and the quiet strength of an underdog who learns that being overlooked is not the same as being powerless.
