- Book 1 of 3: Ana Zest
Actress. Adventurer. Agitator.
"Anything worth doing starts as a bad idea." Ana Zest said that and meant it. She just didn't know it would land her facing execution in a parallel universe.
Ana Zest wants to be a Hollywood star. Instead, she's Public Enemy Number One — for Word Crimes she didn't know existed, in a world she's never heard of, in cuffs crackling with stolen magic.
And there's no way home. Unless she becomes the most hunted girl in the multiverse.
Now Ana must master wild magic, outwit a villain of terrifying beauty and power, and keep her brother alive in a world where speaking the wrong words can turn you into a puppet.
Her brother Zackary is running out of time. And the only person who can help them both is a man nobody fully understands. Or trusts. Lord Orator’s price is steep: she must become his spy. One wrong move and her brother dies. So does she.
Across this completed trilogy, Ana will discover that the multiverse holds more than enemies. Two of its most dangerous princes want to win her heart. Falling for either of them could get her killed. What does Ana do when her ability to speak freely is stolen? But she still needs to lead, to love, to resist?
She arrives with a mystery and a dream of Hollywood stardom. But the tyrant ruler and his scheming sorceress want her silenced. Permanently.
"Big mistake," promises Ana. "Stars never die in the first act."
Fast-paced, feisty, and fierce — this is the first book in the #1 bestselling trilogy that has captivated readers worldwide.
REVIEWS & AWARDS
“It crosses boundaries between genres, age groups, and expectations. Entertains while encouraging bold thought, a rare combination that should be applauded and, more importantly, read.” — Book Excellence Award Winner
"What surprised me most was how invested I became in the book’s ideas about identity and choice... Ana’s struggle to reclaim her voice, literally and metaphorically, felt raw and real, even surrounded by magic hippogriffs and portal keys.” — Literary Titan Award Winner
"At its core, this is a story about voice... Some readers will see this as a powerful allegory for marginalized voices in authoritarian systems. Others will see a kick-butt sorcerer-in-training who doesn’t wait for a fairy godmother to fix things. Both are correct." —The Bookish Readers' Pick, 5-star review
“Step into the realms of boundless magic, treacherous quests, and the tantalizing allure of the unknown. For fans of Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Percy Jackson, and Shadow and Bone comes a tale that’s in a league of its own.” — Readers’ Choice Award Winner
“Wild, witty, and wisdom-packed whirlwind of an adventure that bends time, space, and the heart. Aurora Winter masterfully weaves metaphysics with mischief." — Dr. Kelly Sullivan Walden, bestselling author
